Habitual shoulder dislocation

Latest experience report from 03/15/2017:

Hello, my 11-year-old son has the problem that the shoulder dislocates and jumps back in certain situations and he can also show how he can dislocate his shoulder.
We have now received a referral to the orthopedist. I would be interested in what treatment methods are available in this case or do you just wait and see with such young patients?

Dear N.,

You will first be x-rayed, because every dislocation can damage the bony structures. Therefore, you should also ask your son not to provoke the shoulder dislocation to self-trigger. Then one will try to solve the problem as far as possible with physiotherapy therapy. Only when this shows no improvement in the long term will you consider an operation (arthroscopic). best regards
