Why do people wear fake designer clothes?

Project appraisal 2019 - Brands vs. No-Name - an article for consideration

No-Name VS Brands- Is There Really That Big Difference?

Hello dear readers,

our group have a project appraisal in a period from June 24th, 2019 to June 28th, 2019. Our theme is Brands VS No-Name. This topic is about how clothing is made and where it comes from, what types of brands there are, how brands influence us in everyday life and what they do with us, brand labels that produce no-names and, last but not least, a textile comparison. If you are interested in these topics then this article is perfect for you. Here ^^ you will learn more about the manufacturing process and child labor, as well as what types of brands to no-name there are, no-name and fake clothing and, last but not least, about life with branded clothing, what it is with us and how it affects us.

First we start with the brands, what are brands anyway? The term brand is used in connection with well-known manufacturers with special products. Let's take Nike as an example. Nike is one of the most successful brands in Germany. Nike can be associated with the term label. Label is another term for brand, and a brand is a symbol of a company like the hook at Nike. As I said, we specialize in clothing. Most of the no-name clothes, including brands, are made abroad. The main reason for this is that German companies and others have their clothes manufactured in so-called low-wage countries and sell at high prices in Germany, so everything is just to make good sales. Mostly it is child labor. Now you are probably wondering why children work in low-wage countries, that is because families have no money for schools and therefore they need every penny. Often this leads to children remaining uneducated. Brands, no-name, and fake are all types of brands. Brands are understood to be expensive and more popular products than no-names, such as H&M and Nike, these are both popular companies, only that Nike is the more expensive and more popular brand of the two. In the case of fake branded clothing, it is the case that it looks like an expensive brand although it is simply counterfeit and is often of poor quality. The print is washed out quickly and the fabrics wear out faster. It can also happen that branded companies produce no-name clothing. Many labels sell their remaining stocks to discounters such as Lidl, Rewe, Aldi, Norma or other well-known shops. In this way you still make profit for goods on which you would “sit”. Branded clothing also influences us in our lives. A lot revolves around how we dress. Those who do not wear brands are quickly thrown on the head that they have no money and are not as valuable as the people who wear the branded clothing. Many young people need recognition from others, which leads them to buy and wear branded goods. As everyone knows, branded goods are not exactly cheap. Often the pocket money of the young people is not enough, which can lead to them stealing branded clothing. Youngsters commit crimes, getting themselves into sensitive situations just to look cool. Is that what really matters?

In the end, we should all think again about whether we really need branded clothes and how they are made. Children have had to work hard for it, but they only get a few cents for it. They'd better go to school, study, and build a life like us. So always pay attention to where your clothes come from and say no to child labor!
