Xiaomi: Sales in India should push smartphone business

With its latest smartphones Mi 5 and Mi 4s, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has once again unleashed two hot mobile devices on customers. As we reported, the huge demand for the Mi smartphones is putting both manufacturing capacities and logistics of the label from China under heavy pressure. Last year, however, Xiaomi missed the targeted 80 million devices in terms of sales.

As it was said in media reports from India at the beginning of March, Xiaomi is therefore focusing particularly on the e-commerce boom in India this year. In India, online trading is booming through Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm and Snapdeal. And that India is particularly important for Xiaomi in 2016 is already shown by the fact that Xiaomi VP Hugo Barra himself regularly puts a lot of effort into all launch events in India. According to Bin Lin, President of Xiaomi, the growth prospects in India are particularly good at the moment.
