“Starting a business can be difficult and even scary,” says self-made billionaire, serial entrepreneur and Virgin visionary Sir Richard Branson sympathetically.

The entrepreneur was born on July 18, 1950 in the UK county of Surrey. His steep career began at the age of 19 with the establishment of a mail order company for records. He calls his company "Virgin" and manages to make it one of the most successful record labels in the world in the following years. In 1984 Branson also founded an airline. And more companies and ideas followed, which he successfully implemented in the following years - even in space tourism. Branson has been married to his wife Joan since 1989 and has two children together. Forbes magazine lists him as one of the richest men in the world.

“As the founder of hundreds of companies worldwide, I have gained some experience in this area. After four decades in business, I still don't know everything. There he gives entrepreneurs and those who want to become one five tips, which the incubator lists below:

Insatiable curiosity is one of the most important qualities an entrepreneur can possess.

Find the right ideas

Many of the best ideas come from a personal need. Virgin Atlantic, for example, was founded out of frustration. The job of an entrepreneur is to see opportunities where others suspect hurdles. You take challenges to your chest and turn them into opportunities - the goal is to find solutions and bridge the gap. There are so many areas, industries and sectors out there that are ripe to be taken apart; who are just waiting for the right idea to revolutionize them.

Be passionate

The line between success and failure is very narrow when starting a business - you will fall on the wrong side if you don't have the necessary passion. Success will not be achieved if you don't passionately believe in your idea, product or service. Yes, it's that simple! Passion will help you keep track of the money and your head in the game. Those people who have what it takes to be entrepreneurs are mostly on fire because of something.

The right partners

The dynamism of a company is a decisive success factor and this in turn is influenced by the people who work for it. So it's incredibly important to find the right people to work with. I've worked with family and friends in my company. I still work with my children and their partners today.

Listening and learning

Managers like to talk a lot and only listen half as well. In the beginning I learned a lot from others. If you want to be a good boss, you have to be a good listener. The best tip you can get is to go outside and then do the following: Listen, learn, write down particularly important tricks, and soak up knowledge - anytime, anytime. Everyone has something to teach you. Getting your hands dirty and gaining experience - everything you need to know to start a business successfully is learned in the process. Sure, making a company big is a big challenge, but if you stay curious and don't lose your passion, then all doors are open to you. As long as you find ideas that keep you burning and you don't fail to listen to people and learn from them, you won't just make one company big, but many!
