Current information from the city of Geesthacht

Due to the ongoing development of the corona infection process, the Geesthacht city administration is increasingly relying on contactless services - to protect the health of customers and employees.

From January 19, 2021, if possible, only Geesthachers should come to the town hall's citizens' office if their concerns require a personal appearance. These are: applying for an identity card or a passport, notification of loss of an identity card or passport, registrations, certifications, parking permits for the severely disabled (Merkzeichen AG), certificates of life, picking up a new driver's license, picking up new ID cards or passports.

Citizens with such a concern can go to the below. Opening times come to the citizens' office without an appointment.

During the stay in the town hall / citizen's office, it is mandatory to wear medical mouth and nose protection - if necessary, such a mask can be given before admission.

Anyone who has already applied for can be picked up on Tuesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. - through a window on the back of the town hall at the citizens' office.

Issues that do not require a personal appearance are: Application for a certificate of good conduct, examination authorization certificate for the youth protection investigation, confirmation of registration, fishing license, fishing permits, query of the tax identification number (tax ID), application for exemption from the license fee. These processes can be done in writing - by email or by post.

Residence permits, Duldungen etc. that expire should be sent directly to the immigration authorities.
