What is the most beneficial flip phone
The best flip phones in 2020
There are many reasons to consider one of the best flip phones for your next phone. Flips phones are definitely back in vogue, and some of the latest models are practically small, powerful tablets that are great for sketching on the go and that fold up small enough to slip into a pocket when not in use.
On the (um) downside, a more basic flip phone that harks back to the flip phones of years gone by might be a great choice, especially if you already have a powerful camera phone for work but want something minimalistic to avoid distractions. or leave work behind at the end of the day.
Investing in a secondary phone on top of one of the best smartphones could also be a good idea if you don't want to be seen pulling out a high-end flagship in public. A sturdy flip phone that can withstand the occasional knock and is less tempting to thieves would do the job perfectly.
We have selected the best flip phones you can buy right now regardless of your needs and budget.

01.Samsung Galaxy Z Flip
The best flip phone comes from Samsung
Publication date: February 2020 - Camera: 12MP rear (multiple), 10MP front - Operating system: AndroidCool DesignDecent UIPriceyFront screen quite small
One of the coolest flip phones is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. The screen is 6.7 inches and folds in two wonderfully so you don't have to worry about the hinges. This feels like the flip phone of the future, a phone that you can balance well on a table or on your lap while talking to people, and that you can use as two separate displays or one large display. The camera is decent, the thin glass screen feels sturdy yet elegant, and there is even wireless charging. Overall, we think the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is the best flip phone out there. The only problem is that it will cost you.

02. Motorola Razr 2019
One of the best flip phones to replace your regular handset
Publication date: January 2020 - Camera: 16MP rear, 5MP front - Operating system: Android PieFolds down very small. Seamless 21: 9 screen. Not the best camera
The Motorola Razr 2019 is a spiritual successor to the hugely popular Razr V3 and combines the classic design of the older phone with cutting-edge technology. The main selling point of the new Razr is its screen, which folds out to give you an extra wide 21: 9 display that is good for creative work. Unlike the Galaxy Fold, there is no visible seam at the bottom of the screen that it flexes on, and the display is bright and sharp.
When you're done, flip it shut and you have a compact, palm-sized block that can easily be slipped into a pocket. The hinge adds some bulk, but the folding mechanism feels comfortable and almost as satisfying as the push button on the old V3.
This isn't a phone you would buy for its camera (check out our guide to the best camera phones if you're into mobile photography), but the Razr's 8-megapixel rear camera is enough for you to take simple stills and videos.

03. Samsung Galaxy Fold
Samsung's earlier offering is decent but fragile
Publication date: September 2019 - Camera: 10MP cover, 10MP + 8MP front, 16MP + 12MP + 12MP (rear) - Operating system: Android PieHuge 7.5 "screen 5 excellent cameras Fragile screen Very expensive
While not being advertised as such, we like to think of the Samsung Galaxy Fold as a flip phone that swings along the vertical rather than the horizontal axis. The design has a lot in common with the new Motorola Razr, but instead of expanding it to give you an ultra-wide display, the fold opens to reveal a 7.5-inch mini tablet that is ideal for sketching with the Samsung S-Pen is suitable.
In its compressed form, the Galaxy Fold looks and functions like any "candy bar" smartphone (albeit unusually bulky). The cover has a 4.6-inch display that is ideal for messages and calls. Thanks to its slim housing, it is much easier to put in a pocket than, for example, a Samsung Galaxy Note.
Unfortunately, the fold is not without its problems. The pivoting display is fragile, and although Samsung has made many improvements since its disastrous early launch, reviewers (many of whom accidentally removed an important layer of protective layer thinking it was a piece of packaging) reported that the phone broke within a few days had gone. You have to take care of the crease, but when you pay that much it probably goes without saying.

04. Nokia 2720 Flip
The best flip phone for minimalists who want to relax
Publication date: September 2019 - Camera: 2MP - Operating system: KaiOSClean, uncluttered design Tiny when closedLow resolution cameraLimited apps selection
Are you looking for a simple second phone? The Nokia 2720 Flip could be just the ticket. The sleek, minimalist design matches the classic flip designs from Nokia and is far lighter and smaller than devices with more features like those from Samsung and Razor.
The Nokia 2720 Flip uses the Nokia KaiOS operating system instead of Android, which severely limits the choice of apps. However, this isn't a bad thing if you're looking for a minimalist flip phone that can help you avoid distractions at work (or try to get away from work).
But why should you choose the 2720 when other, older models are available for less? The answer is simple: 4G LTE. You could buy a five year old flip phone for very little money and it can serve you well, but the lack of 4G support leaves you struggling with slow data speeds, which can be very painful if you do You need to stream videos for work or send large files. This phone gives you the best of both worlds: a sleek retro design with modern hardware where it matters.

05.Samsung Galaxy Folder 2
The best flip phone for fans of the classic style
Publication date: September 2016 - Camera: 8MP - Operating system: Android MarshmallowHolds two SIM cards Robust design Older version of AndroidOnly one camera
Before folding there was the folder. The Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 was released in 2016 without fanfare and has largely been forgotten in the shadow of its more noticeable younger sibling. That's a shame because it's still an excellent flip phone and more convenient than the fold in many ways.
The design is a bit more luxurious than that of the Nokia 2720 mentioned above, and the fact that it is running a full version of Android means it can work well as either a primary or secondary phone. Again, it's a great choice if your design work takes you around the world, especially because it can hold two SIM cards plus a microSD memory card, so you can easily switch networks while abroad and avoid roaming charges.
Without a flexible screen to worry about (the bottom of the phone contains a number of reassuringly tactile physical buttons), it is more likely to survive the rigors of daily use than the Fold, and with no screen on the outer shell it is less prone to scratches.

06. LG Exalt VN220
The best flip phone for Verizon brings a dose of retro cool
Publication date: June 2017 - Camera: 5MP - Operating system: Proprietary Android forkRobust design Large, clear buttons No camera flash Runs out of stock Android
The 5 megapixel camera won't set the world on fire, but it is surprisingly good for a budget flip phone and sufficient for basic tasks. It's just a shame there is no lightning bolt. However, you do get a generous 8GB of storage for your stills and videos.
With a hearing aid, text-to-speech, and large, neat buttons, the LG Exalt VN220 is also a great choice if you find it difficult to use modern touchscreen smartphones or if you're buying a handset for an older family member.

07.Samsung Rugby 4
The best rugged flip phone is a strong customer
Publication date: October 2014 - Camera: 3MP - Operating system: Proprietary Android forkReally, Really Hard GPS Navigation Doesn't Run Ugly on AndroidPretty
As the name suggests, the Samsung Rugby 4 can take a good kick and keep going. This super tough little feature phone is dust and water proof, so you don't have to worry about throwing it in a suitcase or damaging it while working on site.
This is more of a feature phone than a smartphone, so you won't be able to access all of the content on the Google Play Store. However, you will still benefit from GPS navigation, which is far from important when you are away from home. It can provide turn-by-turn directions and even traffic information.
The Rugby 4 is a great flip phone to have in your corner when things get tricky (or unusually dusty). It's cheap too. So if you can find a way to break it (or rather get it stolen), it won't be the end of the world.

08. TTfone Lunar TT750
The best flip phone for seniors is full of thoughtful touches
Publication date: March 2016 - Camera: 0.3MP - Operating system: SymbianBig clear buttons, one touch SOS button, no web browsing, bad camera
A classic flip phone can be a good choice for older users or for those who find slippery glass touchscreens awkward. The TTfone Lunar TT750 is specially designed for seniors and has been designed to be as accessible as possible.
The smooth, pebble-shaped case fits neatly and securely in the hand. Thanks to the included charging station, you can easily connect tiny USB-C cables. It opens to reveal large, tactile buttons for easy dialing, as well as a one-touch SOS button that can be used to call a relative in an emergency. The call volume is easy to adjust and the dual screen offers high contrast with clear fonts.
The TTfone Lunar TT750 is only available in the UK and Europe. However, if you are in the US, the Jitterbug Flip is very similar.
