Create classic letterheads for email templates

Create classic letterheads that form the basis of a consistent look and feel for your HTML email templates. Make the letterheads available throughout your organization so that other users can use them in their email templates.

Required editions and user permissions

A letterhead consists of properties and details. The properties are only visible within your company and help users recognize letterheads. The details are applied to an email using the appropriate letterhead. Use the Letterhead Wizard to create both appropriate properties and details.

  1. Enter the text in the field under "Setup" and then select Classic letterheads out.
  2. click on Furtherwhen an introductory page is displayed.
  3. click on New letterhead.
    • Select a name from the list to view its letterhead.
    • To edit a letterhead, click on its name and select an edit option: Edit properties or Edit letterhead.
    • To delete a letterhead, click next to its name Dist. A letterhead that is used in an HTML email template cannot be deleted.

Set letterhead properties

  1. Activate if you want to make the new letterhead available to users immediately.
  2. Enter a description in the field. The label is used to refer to the letterhead on user interface pages.
  3. If necessary, change the entry in the field. This name is used to refer to the component when using the Lightning Platform API. In managed packages, this unique name prevents naming conflicts during package installation. A developer can change the names of certain components in a managed package, and those changes will be reflected in a Subscriber's organization. This name can only contain underscores and alphanumeric characters and must be unique within your organization. It must start with a letter, contain no spaces, end with an underscore, or contain two consecutive underscores.
  4. Enter a description for this letterhead. The name and description fields are only intended for internal use to describe the letterhead for other users.
  5. click on to save. The letterhead detail page is displayed.
