Charging your Sonos Roam

In this article, you'll learn how to charge your Sonos Roam using a USB-C cable (included), a Qi-certified wireless charger, or the Sonos wireless charger.

If you want to know the battery level of the Roam, open the Sonos app and select in the tabsystem your roam.

The Roam's status LED will glow amber when it is charging. The LED goes out after about 10 seconds, but the Roam continues to charge.


Use of a USB-C cable

A USB-C cable is supplied with the roam. The Roam's USB-C port is located on the back below the button. Make sure the USB-C cable is properly plugged into your Roam and connected to power while charging.

You can charge the Roam with any 5 V / 1.5 A USB power supply (2.1 A preferred). Charging with a USB-C charger may take different times depending on its capacity.

The Roam's battery charges from 0% to 50% in about an hour using a USB-C cable.


Use of the Sonos wireless charger

You can charge your Roam wirelessly with the Sonos wireless charger. Place the Roam vertically on top of the powered wireless charger to charge it.

The Roam's battery charges from 0% to 50% in around two hours using the Sonos wireless charger.


Use of a wireless, Qi-certified charger

Place the Roam vertically on top of a Qi-certified wireless charger to charge. Charging time varies depending on the model of the Qi-certified charger.


Battery life

The Roam's 18 Wh battery provides up to 10 hours of uninterrupted playback on a single charge. Battery life can vary from pausing playback, changing the volume, bluetooth, exposure to heat, and other factors.
